Creating and performing music for over a decade, North Carolina - based singer songwriter guitarist Jason LeVasseur has been continually engaging listeners nationwide. Jason's style fuses together numerous influences creating a 'charismatic propulsive acoustic pop' sound which is apparent on his CDs; Watching the Girls Go By and the live release, The Opening Guy. The Columbia Free Times was specifically taken by "great songwriting and energy uncommon in acoustic-based music".

Throughout 2005 Jason is touring nationally in support of his new album, Driver Is The DJ.  It is a collection of 12 original songs, carried by Jason's gritty, soulful voice and backed by none other than his trusty acoustic guitar and an array of stellar North Carolina musicians. The new album will be Jasonís second studio release, a powerful follow-up to ìWatching The Girls Go Byî.

Jasonís success begins with the strength of his songwriting, but it is in his live performances where Jason gains most of his devoted fans. The diverse compositions found on the live CD, The Opening Guy, contain a spectrum of styles ranging from blues to sentimental ballad, straight-ahead rock strumming to pensive pop. ìIn Jason's music, smart lyrics mix with poignant arrangements to form a solid foundation of songs that blend memorable melodies and his rhythmic strumming.î The crisp recording of this CD showcase Jasonís talents as a live performer.

Prior to embarking on his solo venture, Jason was writing, recording, and touring with the award-winning band Life in General. The duo was selected as one of Musician Magazine's "Top 100 Unsigned Bands" in the country and was voted the National Association for Campus Activities' (NACA) "Music Artist of The Year."  Recently, Jason showcased at the Atlantis Music Conference in August 2003 and was named the "Best Small Venue Performer" for 2003 by Campus Activities Magazine and ìBest Musical Performanceî in 2004. He has toured and performed internationally while selling over 35,000 of his entire catalog of CDs. Jason has shared the stage with the likes of the Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, The Wallflowers, Widespread Panic, Vertical Horizon, and The Roots. 

To compliment the above accolades, Jason was recently selected as one of the 30 Best Bands by Cornerband.com which gained him global exposure to millions on Kazaa Media Desktop and Kazaa.com web pages. Four of LeVasseur's songs appear in feature-length movies, as well as one song appearing on the EA Sports video game "Triple Play 2000".

Jason was born in the United States but spent most of his childhood in Mexico and Belgium, finally returning to the States for college ó but not before studying French, Spanish and Italian for a year in Milan, Italy. Jason's world travels influence his playing style and his perspective on the world, allowing him to cross the line from roots/rock into world music. He can creatively weave a story and take the listener on a musical and emotional journey.

Jason is currently touring as a solo artist performing original songs on a national level and focusing on well-known clubs in Chicago, New York, Boston, Philly, D.C., Charlotte, and Atlanta. As 2005 unfolds, Jason continues to devote his full time and energy to writing new songs and expanding musically while gaining new, appreciative fans in every city played. 2005 will include the new solo studio CD, a long-awaited follow-up to his debut studio release, Watching the Girls Go By. Not only will 2005 see a new CD, but Jason will be showcasing at the NACA National Conference in February in Minneapolis, MN. This means there are many more exciting adventures to come.
